Adriana is an experienced project manager from Costa Rica who has centred her career around sustainable development, international cooperation and social innovation. She joined Climate Strategies team in 2020, after completing a MSc. in Environment, Politics and Society at University College London, where she focused her research on policy innovation instruments to mobilise climate finance and facilitate a just transition in developing countries.
Bridging her background in social communication, Public Relations and sustainable development, Adriana has led high impact projects, campaigns and events alongside NGOs, government, academia and international organisations, as well as UN agencies like UNESCO, UNICEF and UNOOSA.
She previously worked at VIVA Idea, a think tank founded by Stephan Schmidheiny, where she helped scaling up grassroots approaches to sustainable development by promoting social entrepreneurship in Latin America and connecting sustainability leaders across the region. Additionally, as the Communications Coordinator and Public Relations Officer of the Central American Association for Aeronautics and Space, she played a pivotal role in launching into space the first Central American satellite to monitor CO2 fixation in tropical rainforests. Adriana is a member of the Global Shapers Community of the World Economic Forum and the Climate Reality Leadership Corps.
