Valentina is an environmentalist at heart, passionate about the reconnection of people and nature as the foundation for the co-creation of impactful solutions. Before joining Climate Strategies as a Projects Associate, she worked at the German Cooperation Agency (GIZ) in Mexico, focusing on projects led by the climate change cluster. Her work covered topics such as energy and climate change mitigation; ecosystem-based adaptation; nature-based solutions; youth engagement; and gender mainstreaming, among others. In parallel, Valentina volunteered at CamBIO Colectivo, a youth‑led NGO in Mexico City dedicated to ecosystem restoration and regeneration, environmental education, and community engagement.

Regarding her academic background, Valentina holds a Master’s degree in Environment and Resource Management with a specialization in Ecosystem Services and Biodiversity from the Vrije Universiteit Amsterdam, as well as a Bachelor’s degree in International Relations with focus on Environment and Sustainability from Universidad Iberoamericana, Mexico City.
