  • Editor-in-Chief, Building Research & Information (BRI) Journal

Richard Lorch is the Editor-in-Chief of Building Research & Information (BRI) journal, a position he has held for over 20 years.

Richard is an architect in training, author and editor. He is also a member of the Edge – a built environment think tank which produced “Collaboration for Change: The Future of Professionalism”.

His research interests are organisational responses to sustainability and resilience – from the dual perspectives of top-down aspects of policy as well as bottom-up evidence from the built environment and its stakeholders.  He is on the Advisory Board for the Dresden Leibniz Graduate School.

Two key, recurring transdiscipinary themes in the BRI journal are the nature of the building stock and the changing nature of professionalism – the responsibilities owed to clients and wider society.
