This report summarises findings about the socio-economic impacts of the COVID-19 pandemic on emerging and developing economies, status of countries’ green recovery packages, and implications for international climate finance to enhance green elements in domestic recovery strategies. The synthesis includes two levels: first, an international review, and second, country or regional perspectives from Brazil, India, Indonesia, South Africa, and the EU.

The report concludes with recommendations as to how to deploy international climate finance to enhance green recovery packages in Brazil, India, Indonesia and South Africa.
