This report by CEPA Malawi analyses the scope for a just transition in Malawi. It is one of the countries most affected by climate change impacts. Global warming is already affecting the agricultural sector which contributes a share of 30% to the country’s economy.

The report finds that Malawi’s climate adaptation plans could boost food security, but risk leaving smallholders behind. By involving farmers and other vulnerable communities in shaping the country’s climate plans, Malawi’s government can, however, propel a more just climate transition in Malawi.

The report is part of the South to South Just Transitions initiative, exploring just transitions in nine countries in the Global South.
