This report finds that without a just transition, Kenya’s response to climate change risks leaving millions behind. Written by a team from Environment for Development Kenya, it highlights challenges and opportunities of the low-carbon transition in key sectors of the Kenyan economy. These include agriculture, energy, transport, industry, forestry, waste and tourism.
The report underlines it is crucial to consider perspectives from women, youth and marginalized groups in climate policy planning. In doing so, there is a window of opportunity to improve social equity in Kenya in the long term.
