South Africa has made a number of policy and legislative commitments to address climate change. Implementing the country’s policy and legislative commitments to address climate change adaptation
requires significant funding, yet the full extent of funding flows, their impacts, and the nature of the
deficit in South Africa are still unknown, impeding effective adaptation in practice. This report investigates financing adaptation, looking at how funding might be improved to meet country needs.
