Our Approach
Climate Strategies helps decision-makers tackle the climate crisis.
We work with policymakers to understand their needs. We collaborate with the world’s foremost climate researchers to address climate policy gaps with expert recommendations and achieve real impact.
Climate Strategies is a not-for-profit founded in 2006, with offices in London (UK) and Utrecht (the Netherlands). We operate as an international knowledge brokerage and are a member-based organisation. Our members are established researchers who are trusted by governments, and we implement projects in partnership with a broad range of stakeholders around the world.
Our projects leverage cutting-edge climate research to achieve systemic transformation. We cover topics such as climate adaptation, new technologies, carbon management, governance, just transitions and more, often making us pioneers of climate policy research.
We strive to maintain a diverse portfolio of projects. All Climate Strategies initiatives have three characteristics in common:

They are centred on co-creation with diverse stakeholders. We believe a plurality of knowledge is needed to create holistic and impactful solutions.

We are known internationally for our independence and outstanding quality of work, which is safeguarded by our Charter of Independence.
What We Do
Climate Strategies is focused on advancing science-backed policy through collaboration between researchers and implementing stakeholders (policymakers, businesses, civil society and others). We achieve this through a range of activities:
