The EEIST team launched a new report on new economic models to accelerate the energy transition. The event was a partner event of the Berlin Energy Transition Dialogue.

This event hosted a discussion on new economic modelling of the energy transition, and the policy and analysis lessons for Germany and Europe.

The EEIST team introduced the new report, followed by a focus on three international case studies, which broughtthe modelling approaches to life. Questions discussed include:

  • How new economic modelling of the energy transition can deliver crucial insights for decision makers.
  • How to evaluate and choose between different modelling approaches, and how to support their use.
  • How new models can help identify policies that will drive cost-effective decarbonisation
  • Discussion of specific modelling case studies in India, China, Brazil, and implications for EU countries.
