Germana has been involved in climate and energy policy since 2001, first covering it as a journalist and later as a consultant, adviser and project manager for a variety of non profit organisations. These have included REEEP – Investing in Clean Energy Markets and the Energy & Climate Intelligence Unit, a UK think tank.

As head of energy policy at Friends of the Earth in 2005-07, she managed a comprehensive research project with leading universities to back up the introduction of the UK Climate Change Act. She previously spent three years in Brussels at the WWF European Policy Office setting up the organisation’s work on energy conservation.

As a business journalist, Germana has written for a variety of publications including Dow Jones Newswires, The Wall Street Journal Europe, Argus Media and Sun & Wind Energy magazine.

In 2015 Germana was a visiting lecturer on energy & climate change at the University of Westminster in London.

She holds a first degree with distinction in Political Science from Milan State University, and an MSc from the London School of Economics.
